EMILY MAULDIN

EMD STUDIO (Emily Mauldin Design Studio) is grounded in the belief that good design should be accessible, intentional, and deeply human. Rooted in feminist practice, my work centers collaboration, lived experience, and the people actually living in the home. Nothing has to be done the way it's always been done.

My work is less about telling you what your home should look like and more about helping you understand it: what it's doing for you, what it could do better, and how to make decisions that are undeniably you. Your home should be a place that makes you happy and I believe life is too short for a home without art and absurdism (ideally, all-in-one).

Good design requires understanding how people actually live, and I've lived broadly: sales at TikTok, production company executive assistant, private chef and even an adventure trip leader. Every one of those jobs was, in some way, a design problem. It just took me a while to find the right medium. I hold a bachelor's in Economics from Tulane and a master's in Leadership for Creative Enterprises from Northwestern University.
